RUDOLF SCHOCK sings 'MORGEN/TOMORROW!' by RICHARD STRAUSS 1957 & 1960

NEDERLANDS:

ENGLISH:
To the studio recording from 1957 of one of the most beautiful songs by RICHARD STRAUSS, I added a LIVE performance from 1960.

It is a rare serene recording, which - although sound technically weak - affects me and I hope many with me.

About the studio recording from 1957:
The video images are strictly personal: My own "three-generations" interpretation differs entirely from the most accepted explanation of the lyrics.
This explanation is: Tensions preceded the marriage of Richard Strauss and his wife Pauline. Richard then gave Pauline the song 'Morgen!' as a revealing wedding gift.
The former text of writer/poet John Henry Mackay, however, relates to another love, of whom and the nature of which little is certain.

J.H. Mackay

This gave me freedom for the chosen images, which in any case put 'love' at the center.
Furthermore, everyone can scan for themselves, what those images have to say to her or him.

DEUTSCH:
